Founder Alexandre Gonthier Returns as CEO of Trustly, Inc.

Trustly, Inc. has experienced significant growth and transformation since its inception in 2019. We’ve welcomed new management and built a world-class team in the US, Canada, and Brazil—the Americas team has experienced almost 10x growth since 2020. We now have tech hubs in Vitoria, Brazil, and Lisbon, Portugal. Our product as well as our merchant and consumer base have matured as well. In 2021, we surpassed $10 billion in processed payments in North America. 

Today marks another important moment in our history: We welcome back Alexandre Gonthier as CEO of Trustly, Inc., the Americas division of Trustly AB. This is a full-circle moment as Alex was Founder & CEO of PayWithMyBank, Inc. and then Trustly, Inc. following the merger of PayWithMyBank and Trustly. Alex will continue to execute his vision to establish Open Banking Payments as a mainstream alternative payment method; a vision which he formed back in 2000.  

Alex has more than 25 years of experience in financial technology. As a digital payments expert and serial entrepreneur, he has helped lead several successful FinTechs including iPIN (acquired by Intel Corp.), Paymo (now Boku, LON: Boku), TicketScript (now Eventbrite, NYSE: EB), and eWise.
